HMCS Weyburn (K173) was a Royal Canadian Navy Flower-class corvette which took part in convoy escort duties during World War II.


On 17 Mar 42 HMCS Weyburn took to Freetown the master, 34 crew members and four gunners from British ship Ile de Batz sank by U-68 in pos. 04º 04”N 08º 04”W. They had landed at Cape Palmas, Liberia. Four crew members were lost. Ile de Batz was loaded with 6605 tons of Rice and General cargo.


On 13 Mar 42 the master, 34 crew members and three gunners from British ship Scottish Prince which made landfall at Cape Palmas, Liberia, were brought to Freetown by HMCS Weyburn. Scottish Prince was sunk by U- 68 when sailing in convoy in pos. 04º 10”N 08º 00”W.  Scottish Prince was loaded with 6000 tons of Palm kernels, 600 tons of Castor seeds, and 900 tons of Pig iron.
