3)CANOAS AFB


Created as the 3rd Aviation regiment late in 1937, Canoas, a small town in the neighborhoods of the capital, Porto Alegre, headquartered the 3rd Aviation Regiment in 1937. It was the southernmost Airbase of Brazilian Air Force during the war. Due to the proximity with Argentina, a country which kept a neutrality status during the conflict, the Brazilian Air Force stationed 62 aircraft.
